Wild Horses - Carrot Island, NC near the NC Outer Banks.  Standing ankle deep in saltwater, a few friends and I were surrounded by an unusually large group (30+) of these majestic wild animals.  We had a blast photographing these beautiful creatures as they grazed on the marsh grasses and roamed the sandy shores of undeveloped Carrot Island.  While shooting another small group of horses, I noticed these two out of the corner of my eye.  In a gentle gesture they quickly touched noses... I got one shot.

Gear:  Nikon D90, Nikon 70 - 300mm lens.  Handheld:  using lightweight gear and handholding allowed me to be agile and quick enough to get this image.
